About the Garden Party and Its Organizers

The Windsor Centre for Film, Digital Media & the Creative Arts is excited to showcase its highly enjoyed annual Garden Party fundraiser. The event is an end-of-summer tradition for local filmmakers, artists, community leaders, and friends of the organization. It is organized jointly with the Film Camp for Kids & Youth, and hosted at the Media Arts Community Centre (MACC).

The 2025 annual Garden Party took place on Thursday, August 28th, from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. This marked the third annual Garden Party hosted on the patio at 664 Victoria Ave since the Windsor Centre for Film, Digital Media & the Creative Arts took over the facility in 2022. All proceeds directly impact Film Camp for Kids & Youth‘s ability to provide bursaries and hands-on training in film production, animation, acting, and screenwriting for children and teens across Windsor-Essex.

Promoting Windsor Filmmaking and Youth

The program equips youth ages 8-17 with skills in storytelling, production, art, animation, teamwork, and more. Not only that, Film Camp for Kids & Youth also contributes to community economic development by nurturing local young talent in paid employment to help them hone their skills and build their resumes.

Fundraising is essential to the success of the program. Film Camp for Kids & Youth offers programs to growing numbers of financially disadvantaged, vulnerable children and teens from all walks of life.

Film Camp for Kids & Youth can provide charitable receipts for additional donations and/or donated tickets for those who cannot afford a ticket to be able to attend. “Film Camp for Kids & Youth is primarily funded through community donations and special events like our garden party. This event has become a tradition for many within the Windsor filmmaking scene, valued as a networking opportunity for aspiring filmmakers, artists, and film and media production industry workers alike,” says Amanda Gellman, organization chair. “Since 2013, the program has provided local youth with the tools, mentorship, and confidence to rethink their future.”
