Get Involved and Lend Your Support

Charitable Donations

We are continually evolving to grow our vibrant community and our emerging creative interests. Your sponsorships (from businesses) or donations (from individuals and foundations) help bring meaningful media arts and creative programming to Southwestern Ontario, inspire artistic excellence and diversity, and enrich the cultural life of the region.

To make a charitable donation and receive a tax receipt immediately, visit our page on Zeffy, a safe and secure way to make a charitable donation in Canada. Unlike Canada Helps and PayPal, Zeffy does not charge fees to the charitable organization. Instead, fees at check-out are “optional” to the donor, so the choice is always yours.

Business Sponsorships

All of our programs rely on contributions from local businesses, community organizations, and corporate sponsors. Sponsorship is a wonderful way to connect with the Windsor Centre for Film, Digital Media and the Creative Arts, as well as our programs: Film Camp for Kids & Youth, MasterShot Summit, and other great programs. As a sponsor, you can engage with the wider artistic community in Ontario and promote your business.

Sponsorship packages are customized and may include:

  • Logo on our website
  • A feature in our digital marketing materials (such as our newsletter or social media)
  • Recognition online and/or in the Media Arts Community Centre (MACC)
  • Others, as requested

These benefits are will promote you or your business as a local arts supporter of the Media Arts Community Centre (MACC).

You can also make a business sponsorship through Zeffy. At check-out, select a business receipt rather than a charitable receipt.

Volunteer

Have fun, gain experience, and get creative with us!

We have many volunteer roles, and we invite you to support your local digital media and creative arts community.

To inquire about volunteer opportunities, please get in touch with us at team@windsorfilmmaking.com or info@filmcampforkids.com.

Volunteering is an excellent way to meet people and contribute to the Southwestern Ontario film and arts communities. Our volunteers have fun, create lasting partnerships and friendships, and gain behind-the-scenes access to our community events.

Spring Break, Summer Camp, and Year-Round Classes

Prior to COVID, Film Camp for Kids & Youth ran throughout the year, with week-long programs during the Winter, March, and Summer breaks. We are currently rebuilding the year-round program schedule as we are under construction. There are various programs, including film, visual arts, animation, photography, creative writing, LEGO stop-motion, and more. Volunteers support instructors with the children’s creative crafts and projects, lunchtime supervision, and acting as role models for the camp-goers. If you wanted to make educational videos from home, that is always appreciated; we can go over the format with you. Camp is an excellent opportunity for growing leadership skills!

Event Volunteers

You can volunteer to participate in a variety of community events throughout the Windsor-Essex County, such as the Kingsville Highland Games, Networking Nights, garden party events, Halloween events, holiday events, Oscars dinners, film screenings, and more! We are looking for people to help promote and work at children craft days and seniors craft days, so let us know if these appeal to you. Volunteers are also notified of the events as they approach. We also regularly organize Classical Movie Nights since winter 2024, and we are looking for people to help plan these.

Brochure Distribution

Volunteers can help to promote and educate about opportunities available to all ages by placing brochures, rack cards, and bookmarks in public libraries, recreation centres, senior centres, and various public spaces. Hours are as flexible as your schedule needs.

Mentor or Intern with Us

Working closely with local business owners and media professionals, students have opportunities to develop their skills under the supervision of experienced mentors who will guide them on creative and entrepreneurial decisions. The mentorship program is designed to give students and young professionals one-on-one guidance to build a network and skill set in the creative arts. We organize our Mentorship Weekend events twice a year. Stay tuned for new information. If you would like to be mentored, or become a mentor, email us at: team@windsorfilmmaking.com.
